Privacy Policy

Account information. When you register, we collect your name and email address. Board members may also provide their neighborhood name and address.

HOA data you enter. As part of using the platform, you and your board may upload resident names, email addresses, home addresses, violation records, documents, and communications. This data belongs to you and your HOA.

Payment information. Subscription payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not receive or store your full credit card number. Stripe may share limited transaction metadata (e.g., last 4 digits, billing country) with us for billing purposes.

Usage data. We collect information about how you interact with the platform, including pages visited, features used, and timestamps, to improve the Service and diagnose issues.

Communications. If you contact our support team, we retain those records to assist you and improve our service.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the HoatzinHome platform
• Process subscription payments and send billing notifications
• Send transactional emails (account invitations, violation notices, portal setup confirmations)
• Respond to support requests
• Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or abusive activity
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data to train AI or machine learning models.

We share information only with the following categories of third parties, and only as needed to provide the Service:

• Clerk (clerk.com) — user authentication and account management
• Supabase (supabase.com) — database and file storage infrastructure
• Stripe (stripe.com) — payment processing
• Resend (resend.com) — transactional email delivery
• Vercel (vercel.com) — application hosting and infrastructure

We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of HoatzinHome, our users, or the public.

If HoatzinHome is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.

We retain your account information and HOA data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you cancel your subscription, your data is retained for 30 days to allow for export, after which it may be permanently deleted.

Some information (such as billing records) may be retained longer as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (TLS), row-level security on our database, and role-based access controls within the platform.

No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and we encourage you to use strong, unique passwords and to notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Export your data in a portable format
• Object to or restrict certain types of processing

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

HoatzinHome uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to understand how the platform is used. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or sell your browsing data.

You can configure your browser to block cookies, but some features of the Service may not function properly without them.

The Service is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
